Basically start over from scratch. I thought everything was fine. Installed drupal, created a db and then imported mine over it allowed me ti install drupal and set it up but then, well. Download Drupal 8 Development Version under:download Drupal 7 (recommended) Core:is a. MAMP for Windows MAMP is a free, local server environment that can be installed under macOS and Windows with just a few clicks. MAMP provides them with all the tools they need to run WordPress on their desktop PC for testing or development purposes, for example. You can even easily test your projects on mobile devices.

Drupal VM makes building Drupal development environments quick and easy, and introduces developers to the wonderful world of Drupal development on virtual machines or Docker containers (instead of crufty old MAMP/WAMP-based development).
It will install the following on an Ubuntu 18.04 (by default) linux VM:
- Apache 2.4.x (or Nginx)
- PHP 7.2.x (configurable)
- MySQL 5.7.x (or MariaDB, or PostgreSQL)
- Drupal 7 or 8
- Optional:
- Selenium (for Behat testing)
It should take 5-10 minutes to build or rebuild the VM from scratch on a decent broadband connection.
